Note from Cub Master Briley

We've started a new year. Our attendance is down. We expect some of that when baseball season starts, but we seem to have lost some folks. It is a difficult time for many, but I hope the current economic situation won't cause you to drop out of Cub Scouts. If you are having difficulty, please let us try to help.

We have some news!!!

We have a new Charter Organization. The Marshall A Weir chapter of the Shriner's has taken our Charter over from the Scouting Committee of Jone County. We are looking froward to working with our new Charter Organization to improve our Pack and our boy's experience. They have asked for an organizational meeting to be held on Tuesday, March 17 at 6:30 PM at the Scouting Center. I encourage all of our parents to participate. We want you to tell us what we do that works and what you want us to change. We also need your help on our projects. We are planning our spring, summer and fall schedule now. Tell us what you want to do.

Extreme Games

The Extreme Games campout is March 20 & 21. It will be at the Shriner's Park in Macon and we will be there for the Cherry Blossom Balloon Glow. There will be a lot of activities for the boys. The cost is $6.00 per person with a maximum of $24.00 per family. Each family will be responsible for their own meals. I encourage dens to plan together.

Cubmobile Races

Cubmobile Races- May 16, 2009. Dens are encouraged to make and race a Cubmobile.

Several people have expressed an interest in an optional trip to the USS Yorktown on Sept 11. There will be several groups from Jones County there that weekend. Please contact Lori Thomas if you are interested in that trip.
